1. Your Right to Control Your Data
At Inkbot Design, we believe you should have the choice to decide who tracks your digital footprint. Because we value clean design, we do not use annoying “cookie banners” or popups. However, we fully support your right to opt out of the tracking tools we do use (specifically Google Analytics).
This page explains how you can disable tracking on our site and across the web.
In Plain English: We don't want to annoy you with popups, but we also don't want to track you if you don't want to be tracked. Here is how to turn off the lights.
2. How to Turn Off Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to track visitors and identify which blog posts are most popular. We do not use this data to target you with ads.
If you do not want your visit to Inkbot Design to be counted, you have two options:
Option A: The Browser Add-on (Recommended) Google provides a free browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from tracking you on any website, not just ours.
Option B: Browser Settings You can configure your browser to block “third-party cookies” or strictly block all cookies.
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings > Privacy > Prevent Cross-Site Tracking
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Enhanced Tracking Protection
In Plain English: The easiest way to stop us (and everyone else) from tracking you is to install that little Google plugin. It tells the internet, “I'm invisible.”
3. Controlling Embedded Content (YouTube)
We often embed video tutorials from YouTube. When you play a video, YouTube may set cookies on your device. To manage how YouTube/Google tracks your video history:
- Visit your Google Activity Controls.
- Use “Incognito” or “Private” mode when watching videos.
4. Notice for US Residents (Do Not Sell/Share)
Inkbot Design does not sell your personal data.
However, under strict interpretations of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), allowing analytics tools (like Google Analytics) to collect data on your device can be classified as “sharing.”
By using the opt-out mechanisms listed above (specifically the Google Analytics Add-on), you effectively exercise your right to opt out of this sharing.
5. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We support the Global Privacy Control (GPC) standard. If you have a GPC-enabled browser or extension (like Brave, Firefox, or DuckDuckGo) that sends a signal requesting not to be tracked, our website analytics generally respect this signal by default.
