US Privacy Notice (California & State Specifics)

Last Updated: December 2025

1. Introduction for US Residents

If you are a resident of the United States, specifically California, Virginia, Colorado, Utah, or Connecticut, specific state laws provide you with additional rights regarding your personal information. Inkbot Design (“we,” “us”) provides this notice to comply with these laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

In Plain English: The US has different privacy laws than Europe. This page explains your specific rights if you live in the States (especially California, which has the strictest rules).

2. Categories of Information We Collect

In the last 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information:

  • Category A: Identifiers.
    • Examples: Name, email address, Internet Protocol (IP) address.
    • Source: Collected directly from you (if you email us) or automatically via your browser (cookies).
  • Category B: Internet or Network Activity.
    • Examples Include Browsing history, search history, and interactions with our website (as tracked by Google Analytics).
    • Source: Collected automatically when you visit the site.
  • Category C: Commercial Information.
    • Examples: Records of services purchased if you are a paying client.

We do NOT collect:

  • Biometric data, geolocation data, or sensitive personal information (like social security numbers).

In Plain English: We collect the basics: who you are (if you tell us), and how you use our website. We don't collect “creepy” data like your fingerprint or exact GPS location.

3. “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”

Under the CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information.

Our Stance: Inkbot Design does NOT sell your personal information to third parties for monetary value. We do not act as a data broker.

However, we do use standard analytics tools (Google Analytics 4). Under strict definitions of some state laws, allowing these tools to collect data might be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioural contexts. We have disabled advertising retargeting pixels on our site to minimise this.

In Plain English: We don't trade your email address for cash. We do use Google Analytics to see how popular our blog is, but we aren't selling that data to ad agencies.

4. Your Rights Under US State Laws

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights:

  1. Right to Know: You have the right to request specific information about the data we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
  2. Right to Delete: You can ask us to delete personal information we have collected from you (subject to certain exceptions, like tax records).
  3. Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate information we hold about you.
  4. Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you (e.g., by denying services) for exercising your privacy rights.

In Plain English: If you want to know what info we have on you, just ask. If you want us to delete it, ask. We won't treat you badly for asking.

5. California “Shine the Light” Law

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents who use our Website to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share your data with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

6. Do Not Track (DNT) Signals

Some web browsers allow you to enable a “Do Not Track” feature that sends signals to the websites you visit.

  • Our Policy: We do not currently respond to “DNT” browser signals because there is no universal standard for interpreting them. However, we do respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal if your browser sends it.

7. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.

8. How to Exercise Your Rights

We will verify your request by asking you to confirm the email address we have on file for you. We aim to respond to all legitimate requests within 45 days.
