Top 15 MacBook Pro Accessories That Make Life Easier
Apple's MacBook Pro line has been the go-to laptop for professionals in the tech and creative industries for decades. With its powerful performance, sleek design, and reliability, there is no question why. However, a few minor MacBook Pro accessories can help you improve your experience and stay connected.
If you're looking for a new MacBook Pro, consider these top 15 accessories to make life easier.
Knowing what to buy when buying a new laptop can take time and effort. There are a lot of different models on the market, and they each have their advantages and disadvantages.
So, if you're looking for a new laptop, you may wonder which one is best for you. We've put together a list of our favourite MacBook Pro accessories that you should consider.
Top 15 MacBook Pro Accessories
1 – Supershieldz Designed for MacBook Pro
If you're looking for a matte anti-glare screen protector for your MacBook Pro, you're in the right place!
Supershieldz has developed a film that reduces glare and protects the surface from fingerprints and scratches. The anti-glare film can be easily installed and removed so it won't leave any residue.
A soft touch sensitivity makes the screen easier to use, and it's made from a high-quality Japanese PET film that won't damage the surface or cause any residue when removed.
The Supershieldz screen protector is available in different sizes, with three covers included. It's designed to fit the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models.
The protection is effective against light scratches, dust and dirt, and it's easy to apply.
While it doesn't cover the entire screen, it does extend to the edge, so you can still use the laptop with the screen protector in place.
The Supershieldz matte anti-glare film will make your MacBook Pro look better, and it's a great addition to the accessories collection.
2 – Apple Magic Mouse
This mouse is excellent, it feels like the first generation of the Magic Mouse, but it's got many more features.
I've always loved the wireless mouse idea, which is nice to use. I was sceptical at first because it's smaller than the old ones, but it's more comfortable to hold. The buttons are clicky and responsive.
It's also rechargeable, so you don't have to carry a bulky power pack or worry about dead batteries.
The rechargeable battery lasts an entire month, and there's no need to change it.
It's also a nice feature that will switch off after a few minutes of inactivity, so it won't accidentally start transmitting data when you're not using it.
It's perfect and better than the previous model, so I recommend it to anyone who likes wireless mice.
You can get this mouse for $99, but it's also available on Amazon.
3 – Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad
This is the one for you if you're looking for a sturdy, well-designed keyboard that can handle some serious typing.
The Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad is one of the best keyboards you can get, and for a good reason.
It's well-built, sturdy, and has an extended layout that makes it ideal for productivity. It's also well-thought-out, with a low profile and the ability to adjust the height to suit your needs.
The keyboard is also pretty comfortable, thanks to the low-profile design and the soft, slightly raised rubberised keys.
The scissor mechanism under each key means that your fingers won't need to flex when pressing down, and it improves stability and accuracy.
The keyboard also comes with a rechargeable battery that can last up to a month or so before needing a charge, and it has a USB-C port that lets you charge the battery from a laptop or a power bank.
This solid keyboard can handle heavy-duty typing, and the fact that it has a battery means you don't have to worry about charging it regularly.
4 – USB C Hub Adapters for MacBook Pro
The 7-in-2 USB C to MacBook Pro adapter is one of the best adapters I've used for the Macbook Pro. It's a bit pricey at $55, but it does much more than you'd expect.
It has two USB 3.0 ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port, and a pair of USB-A ports. There are also SD/MicroSD card readers and a headphone jack. This is a great way to charge your MacBook Pro and connect a mouse, keyboard, and external hard drive.
I tested this out with a MacBook Pro and an iPhone 14 Plus and found it worked flawlessly. I could charge my MacBook Pro from the adapter while it was connected to the charger in my MacBook Pro, and the iPhone would also charge while plugged into the adapter.
That said, there were a few things I wasn't crazy about:
- It didn't work with the MacBook Air. It's USB-C, but the MacBook Air only has two USB-A ports, so that it wouldn't work with the adapter.
- It doesn't support charging, so you can't use this with a MacBook Pro if you're not going to charge it.
- The SD/MicroSD card reader isn't reversible, so you won't be able to use it in landscape mode.
5 – MacBook Pro Charger
This USB-C Macbook charger is one of the fastest-charging USB-C MacBooks and is the only USB-C charger that supports PD 27W, 30W, 61W, 87W, and 96W.
There are many USB C chargers on the market, but most only support PD 30W or PD 87W and are pretty bulky and heavy. However, the iXCV charger is the only one that supports PD 27W, 30W, 61W, 87W, and 96W, and it's also extremely compact, weighing only 1.1 lbs. and measuring only 4.3 x 4.4 x 2.2 inches.
That's why it's the best charger for Macbook Pro.
I bought the iXCV USB C Macbook charger for my MacBook Pro 13″, and I was surprised to find out that it can fully charge my laptop in only about 1 hour and 25 minutes, and it can charge most mobile phones from 0% to 80% in about 20 minutes.
The iXCV charger is very convenient because you don't need to worry about whether or not the charger is compatible with your laptop. After all, it supports all of the current USB-C PD models.
It's also compact, lightweight, and great for travel and outdoor activities.
If you want a fast-charging USB-C charger for Macbook Pro, get the iXCV USB-C Macbook charger.
6 – Bestand Laptop Stand
The Bestand Laptop Stand is designed with ergonomics in mind. It can support your laptop's screen at a comfortable viewing angle while keeping your hands free from other tasks.
It has a load-bearing capacity of 66 lbs. and is 4mm thick so that it won't wobble or sag under heavy loads. The silicone pads at the base of the stand keep your laptop from slipping, and the air vents on the side of the stand help to keep your laptop cool.
The stand has a great design that protects your laptop from any damage. I've seen some flimsy laptop stands that need to be more sturdy to support a laptop.
It's also very convenient because it doesn't require any setup tools. Just grab it, and you're ready to go.
The Bestand Laptop Stand is an excellent buy for those who want a good laptop stand but want to save money. It's also worth noting that this durable product can last for many years.
7 – UPPERCASE GhostCover®
Look no further if you're looking for an excellent MacBook keyboard cover. The Uppercase GhostCover is one of the best that we've tested.
It's made from a transparent material that lets your keyboard's backlight shine through and is entirely form-fitting. It's also extremely thin, so you won't notice it when you use your laptop.
The cover is also incredibly strong and should be able to handle much abuse. It's super easy to install and remove, and you can get it in various sizes to fit your laptop.
Regarding design, the GhostCover is similar to our other picks.
While we like how the backlight shines through the cover, we wish there were a few more colours. As well it's a bit tricky to install, as it needs to be attached to the side of the MacBook. That said, the GhostCover does look good on your MacBook.
You'll notice a subtle difference, but it's not something you constantly look at. It's also very light so that you won't feel weighed down.
If you're looking for an excellent MacBook keyboard cover, then the Uppercase GhostCover is worth a shot.
8 – tomtoc 360 Protective Laptop Sleeve
The Tomtoc 360 laptop sleeve is a protective cover for your MacBook, made from the highest quality materials.
I love the fact that it features military-grade protection. It has been dropped multiple times and still looks great. The best part is that it doesn't add bulk to your MacBook and doesn't weigh it down.
I've used this bag for my MacBook for a few months, and it hasn't let me down. The interior is well-designed, with two small pouches for keeping your cables and chargers organised. It's easy to open and close too, which makes it very convenient.
The only downside is that it's not a waterproof bag, but it does have a flap to protect the bottom of your MacBook.
Overall, this is a good bag, and I highly recommend it.
9 – Baseus USB C Charger
Baseus is the new kid on the block, but they've quickly become a favourite among power users. Their latest charger is smaller, lighter, and more powerful than ever.
This 100W USB-C charger is designed to provide enough power for most USB-C laptops, tablets, and smartphones. It supports PD (Apple 20W and Samsung 45W) and QC 2.0 (Apple 15W and Samsung 30W), so you can charge your laptop and phone at the same time. It also provides 100W power, more than twice the original 93W USB-C charger.
You can charge up to four devices simultaneously, so this charger is perfect for charging multiple devices simultaneously.
The small size makes this charger much more convenient and doesn't take up much space on your desk or in your bag.
In addition to being smaller, this charger is also lighter than previous models. It's only 10% smaller and weighs about 4 oz, which is 1/3rd of the weight of the original 93W charger.
This charger also packs more punch than the original, so you get better performance. It can provide up to 100W of power, twice the original's power.
The base is also made of aluminium, making this charger a sleek and modern look.
It's compatible with both Apple and Samsung devices, so it'll work with whatever device you use. It's also IPX7 certified, which means it's dustproof and waterproof.
If you're looking for a high-performance, reliable charger that charges multiple devices simultaneously and looks excellent, you need to get this charger.
10 – CloudValley Webcam Cover Slide
If you're looking for a simple way to cover your webcam on your laptop, you'll be pleased to know that there are several inexpensive solutions on the market. The CloudValley WebCam Cover Slide is one of the most popular ones, and it's available at a very affordable price.
The slide is made from matte black plastic and is designed to fit all laptops. The design is minimalistic, and it's suitable for both male and female laptops. It also works on all models of the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPad Pro, and other Apple devices.
This is a straightforward and easy-to-use webcam cover. It does not interfere with the webcam in any way. Just align to the webcam and press for 15 seconds, and it's done.
I have experience using the webcam covers on my laptop, and this is by far the easiest one to use. It doesn't require any tools or screws. Simply put, it's a no-brainer.
It's also relatively cheap; you can get it for less than $10. The only downside is that it does not come with a screen protector. So if you plan to use it regularly, I recommend getting a screen protector from somewhere else.
11 – SanDisk 1TB Extreme Portable SSD
SanDisk is a trusted name in storage, and its Extreme Portable SSD is no exception. It comes in a rugged aluminium enclosure that's water-resistant and dustproof and features a dual-battery setup for added durability. It can store up to 1TB of data and is perfect for photographers who want to shoot RAW files.
I captured 4K video at 60fps with this portable SSD, and it performed exceptionally well. It's an excellent choice for anyone who shoots videos or photos regularly and wants a reliable portable storage solution.
If you want to protect sensitive information, this SanDisk 1TB Extreme Portable SSD is a great option. Its rugged design can handle drops of up to 2m, so it's perfect for taking on hikes or adventures.
It can store 1TB of data, which is enough for thousands of high-resolution images. It also has a fast USB-C interface, which is compatible with various smart devices.
This SanDisk 1TB Extreme Portable SSD has a sturdy aluminium body and a water-resistant design. It can withstand a 2m drop and is dustproof, so it's perfect for travel or outdoor adventures.
It comes with a handy carabiner loop for securing it to your backpack, bag, or belt loop.
The 256-bit AES hardware encryption ensures that your personal data stays private.
This SanDisk 1TB Extreme Portable SSD is an excellent choice for photographers who want a reliable portable storage solution.
12 – Apple AirPods Pro
The Apple AirPods Pro is a great upgrade to the first generation of AirPods and the best version yet.
With the H2 chip, Apple has pushed active noise cancellation technology to a new level. It's much better than I thought, and it's a game-changer.
When it comes to active noise cancellation, it's like having a personal noise-cancelling headset. If there's a lot of background noise, the earbuds will automatically adjust to lower the volume and make it sound like there's no noise.
While the first-generation AirPods only had basic noise cancellation, the new ones are much more advanced. The difference is especially noticeable in noisy environments like airports, train stations, and busy city streets.
Even in places where it doesn't have to work as hard to cancel out the noise, the new AirPods Pro are still much more effective than the old ones. The H2 chip makes the difference, but the overall quality of the earbuds is also improved in many ways.
Apple has done a great job designing these new earbuds, which look much more stylish. They come with the same silicone tips included with the first-generation AirPods, but they're better made and stay in place much better.
They're also very comfortable to wear, and they don't have any weird build-up or pressure points.
One of the most significant improvements that Apple has made is removing the wires from the earbuds themselves. They've done this for a reason: they've finally found a way to make the case trimmer. The case is still somewhat bulky but much smaller than before.
The new AirPods Pro also come with a new charging case that's a lot more durable. It's water resistant and has a magnet to keep it in place on your desk or nightstand.
If you're worried about battery life, you can charge the case with the included USB-C cable, or you can use a different USB-C cable or a Lightning cable. It's a bit awkward, but it does the trick.
The last significant improvement is that Apple has upgraded the audio experience. The new H2 chip can drive higher-quality audio, which results in a more enjoyable listening experience.
The new earbuds also have a new feature called “Smart Pause.” This allows you to pause songs and movies while keeping them muted so that you can listen to music or watch a movie without disturbing others.
There are other minor improvements that I won't go into detail about, but the bottom line is that the new AirPods Pro are simply the best headphones that Apple has ever made.
13 – Audioengine A2+ Wireless Speaker
The A2+ is a very high-quality speaker with high-end specs. They're not cheap, but they're still one of the best-looking speakers out there, and they're still an excellent choice for someone who wants a high-quality speaker.
They come with a powerful subwoofer, two powerful amplifiers, and a 5.25″ woofer that can handle pretty much any music. The only thing missing is a bit of bass, but that's not a problem, as the A2+ has excellent sound for the price.
It works with Android and iOS devices and can connect your speakers via Bluetooth. There are three ways to connect to your phone: via Bluetooth, USB, or analogue inputs.
The A2+ is a great option for anyone looking for a high-quality, powerful speaker that looks good. They're not inexpensive, but they're worth the price.
14 – XP-PEN Deco Pro
The XP-PEN Deco Pro is one of the best tablet pens I have ever used.
When you have to work in a small space like my bedroom, having a tablet that you can move around is extremely helpful. It also has the best writing experience of any tablet I've ever owned.
The XP-PEN Deco Pro is slim and very comfortable to use. It doesn't feel like it will break or bend when you're drawing, and it's a pleasure to use.
I love that it's battery-free and doesn't need to be charged. It feels so lightweight and light on the wrist that I don't even think about using a power source.
The Deco Pro is also an excellent tool for digital art and painting. I used it to make a lot of different drawings and paintings. It has the best brushstroke control of any tablet I've ever used, and it's easy to create fine lines.
The XP-PEN Deco Pro is versatile and can be used for various projects. The new double-wheel interface is a vast improvement and a handy tool for digital artists.
The Deco Pro is the best option for you if you want to make beautiful digital artwork.
15 – SmartQ USB 3.0 SD Card Reader
This USB 3.0 card reader is perfect for any professional who needs to work faster and transfer large files.
When transferring files from a camera to your computer, there are several ways you can do it. For example, you could use a memory card reader or a card reader or use a cable to connect the two devices.
The problem with using a cable is that it limits you to the speed of the cable, and you can only sometimes guarantee that it's fast enough to transfer the files to your computer. The same goes for card readers. If you have many photos to download, you might have to wait a long before the process is finished.
This card reader is for you if you need to work with large files. It's designed to read CompactFlash (CF) and MicroSD cards, and you can connect them to a computer via USB 3.0.
The card reader supports multiple cards, including CF and MicroSD cards, so that you can transfer your files from various devices. For example, you can connect a GoPro to the card reader, and it will automatically detect the memory card.
The USB 3.0 interface is super-fast so that you can transfer files from your camera, camcorder, or GoPro to your PC, laptop, or Mac quickly and easily.
With this card reader, you can save time and be more efficient. It's perfect for photographers, musicians, and other professionals who need to transfer files quickly.
